Design for 3D printing

Designing part for 3D printing.


Project summary:

The part participates to the lubrication of the gearbox. With the proposed new design, the part is ready for mass production via metal 3D printing.

We have given advices to the design team and performed the strength validation (static, dynamic, fatigue, thermal) and the functional validation via CFD analysis.

Compared to the previous hand welded solution, the main results are:

  • less part in assembly
  • weight reduction
  • cost reduction
